• Reading Data: We store your reading progress, bookmarks, and preferences to sync across your devices.
• Authentication Data: If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from these services.

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Sync your reading progress and bookmarks across devices
• Provide AI features (a few free questions per book, unlimited with Pro)
• Send important service-related communications
• Improve our app and user experience

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase, a service provided by Google. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For user authentication, data storage, and cloud services
• Apple App Store / Google Play: For payment processing of in-app purchases
• xAI (Grok): Powers the AI companion. When you use it, we send xAI your question, any text you selected, the text of the book you are reading up to your current page (plus short summaries of earlier chapters), and, when you tap "Explain image", that picture from the book with the text around it, so it can answer about that book. The picture is used only for that answer and is not stored by Loremate. We do not send your name or email address.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
